Mango and banana green smoothie

This smoothie combines the goodness of plant Omega 3s, an impressive 55% of recommended dietary intake (RDI)* of fibre from the fruits and seeds, a plant-based dose of iron (16% of RDI) from fresh green spinach, and the rich creaminess of avocado that's packed with alpha-linolenic acid (ALA; a plant based omega 3), as well as fat soluble vitamin E which is a powerful antioxidant, vitamin A which is essential for reproductive and immune health as well as vision, and vitamin K to support normal blood clotting.
Oh and she also contains ~25% of dietary folate requirements, and the minerals sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, selenium and iodine!
This beautiful green smoothie packs a nutritional punch and is the perfect breakfast or snack on the go!
Ingredients
80g fresh (or thawed) mango
½ medium banana
250ml unsweetened almond milk
40g spinach (a big handful!)
1/4 of an avocado
1tbs flaxseed meal
1tbs chia seeds
1tbs oats
Method
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth and creamy. Sweeten with a little maple syrup or honey if desired. *You can swap out the banana or mango and double the amount of fruit you love.
Makes 1 serve.

Tip for busy new mums:
To meal prep this smoothie, you can measure / chop all ingredients except your milk and freeze them in a container / your blender jug (if you have a massive freezer!). When you are ready for the smoothie, remove from freezer, add your milk and blend (might be a good idea to blend before putting baby down for a nap!).
