Dietary Snapshot
Feel like something is a bit off with your diet, but can't quite put your finger on it?
Want to know more about what you’re eating?
Looking for a snapshot of where your diet is lacking with nutrients, or to ensure you’re on track?
Thinking about trying to conceive and would like to check your dietary intakes?
Pregnant and wondering if you are meeting you and your baby's nutritional needs?
Let us help!
Welcome to our three-day diet review. To be clear, when we say ‘diet’ we mean ‘the kinds of food that a person, or community habitually eats’.
This is how it works: You tell us everything** that you eat and drink, and when, for three days, using an app that we will instruct you to download on to your phone.
**It only works if you tell us everything - we recommend you enter the data as you prepare / eat a meal so that your chances of missing something in the recall are reduced.
Then, we will analyse your data (yep, an actual person will do this!) and send you:
-
A summary of the information you shared via the intake form.
-
Charts showing how your dietary intake aligns with National dietary guidelines - based on your personal circumstances and life stage.
-
Recommendations for how you might address discrepancies between dietary guidelines and your data based on your main presenting health concern / goal.
This is a great way to give yourself a bit of a nutritional check up!
It may be as simple as increasing one or two foods to help you find balance and get you back up and running again. Or, you may discover that you are more off course than you thought and can then choose to invest in a consult to help you get back on track.
FAQs
What can I expect from the three-day diet review? When you purchase this review, you will receive a summary document to your email that explains the entire process. Basically, you will download a free simple to use app to track your food and drink intake. We will send you a questionnaire to complete so that we can compare your nutritional intake against the relevant charts. You will send us the data you gather in the app at the end of the 3 days and, using dedicated nutritionist/dietician software, we will determine the nutrition profile of your diet alongside your generalised personal requirements (based on age, sex, activity levels, pregnancy status etc).
You will end up with a concise personalised report prepared by Dr Hayley (not a robot), highlighting how the foods you typically eat align with recommendations based on your stage of life. Often times, there can be a relatively simple fix, such as adding in a few extra foods into your weekly rotation, to address nutritional deficiencies that may for example, be having an impact on your energy and wellbeing. This report will assist you with identifying those things.
When should I do a three-day diet review? We recommend that you complete the review during a 'typical' three-days for yourself. We recommend doing the review over one weekend and two consecutive week days.
You might like to complete a diet review if you've noticed you are feeling more tired or less motivated than usual, if you've made any significant changes to your dietary or physical activity habits or if you just know something is missing, but you can't quite put your finger on it.
Other times where a review can be essential are transitional moments, such as when your child transitions through adolescence, peri- / menopause, older age, starting a pregnancy journey - these transitional times in our life come with changing nutritional needs and we can help you make sure you are getting everything the new version of you needs.
What qualifications does a nutritionist have? Nutrition is an unregulated profession in Australia, meaning, anyone can call themselves a nutritionist, even after doing a weekend, online course. Dr Hayley completed a 12 months full-time, Graduate Diploma of Human Nutrition from Deakin University in 2022, not long after she founded Eat for You. This, with her PhD in reproductive physiology and Bachelor of Science with honours in physiology, she's more qualified than most.

I found it so helpful to get an external insight into my diet but without spending hundreds with a naturopath or practitioner and finding a time to get to appointments. I eat well and feel like I have most areas covered but I didn’t realise some days I actually wasn't eating enough and I was missing a few key nutrients. I feel like at that price I could do it every now and then to check in.
